Hi !
My Creda T630CW now only blows cold air.
Any ideas/suggestions?Reading previous postings, I gather it’s most likely to be ( in order )
– thermostat
– heater element
How do I check these?
Where are they located in the chassis ( left or right side, or back. )
What do they look like?
And where can I get replacements?Thanks in advance. I took off some of the chasis panels last night, but could not see anything obvious.

Most likely are the thermostats as you say.
Both the heater and the thermostats are at the rear, you’ll need a continuity terster to check them, please ensure the plug is removed from the socket beforehand :zap:

When you have taken the screws out of the back. (plug removed)
you will see two thermostats located above the heater. remove the one with the spot (green/red/blue) this is the one that usually goes, although BOTH have to be replaced, When you have removed it, turn it upside down. there is a strip of metal covering the stat.. If this is concave (dipping in) then the stat has gone, if it is convex then the stat is fine. and means your problems lie elseware.

Thanks. Got the replacement thermostats from your shop as suggested ( part number 1701583 ).
How do I tell which of the two replacements is the “green dot” thermostat? They look identical to me, except for small differences in the writing on the sides.Or is there no significant difference between the two?

One of the stats should have a spot of green paint on it. If it does not then the one with L130C is the one shot device ( green dot ) and should be fitted to the left, the other stat should have L106-20C, this is the temperature control stat and goes to the right.
Handle the L130C stat with care, if you press in the base the stat will be permanently damaged.Remember to pull the plug first.
Whilst these stats do fail on a regular basis there are a few things you can do to prevent early failure. Make sure the heat exchanger as well as the filter is kept clean ( a hosepipe in the garden is the best way ) never stop the dryer when it is hot except in an emergency, always allow the last 10 minute cooling down period to take place. Try and make sure that tiny hands are not pressing the door when the dryer is in operation.
the numbering is different on the replacement (qualtex) stats you provided.
Writing is on the top of the stats;
stat A= KSD 301 250V 10A 130
stat B = KSD301 250V 10A 105My guess would be that stat A is the same as the one shot L130C. Can you confirm that is the case?
