    Morning all,

I’m turning to the white goods forums, as we have an issue with a built in Siemens Hob; ET79054EU/01.

I have attempted to replace the main fast element, however, there was no wiring instructions with the element (and it appears there has been a modification).

After connecting the new element, and turning on the hob there was a bang – looks like the PCB has blown.

Has anyone had any experience wiring these new elements? We are now going have to purchase a new PCB (at £250!) to repair this Siemens hob… but with no wiring diagram still, I don’t want the same thing to happen!

    Regards,

    Mike

Re: Siemens Built In Hob – Help!

wiring info for siemans is not easy to come by.

i have not seen the new elements but from the diagrams i think i know what you have done. The connection on the stats on the ring are in a different orientation and when you connected it you caused a short circuit

from what you say the circuit board has had a short circuit. since i assume these rings will be relay controlled it may be possible to repair the board and replace the relay. depends on how much damage you have done

there is also a risk you have damaged the overheat stat of the new ring

if you post pictures it might help to decide

    Dave
