ParticipantHi
I have a set of instructions (no manufacturer on them) that sates I should clean the filter regularly and this is located at the bottom edge of the washing machine. I have removed the kitchen unit plinth and there is a small circular plastic handle (approx 3 inches in diameter). The handle wi only turn 90 degrees each way and won’t pull out. There are 3 small screws surrounding the handle but are on the main metal body of the machine and don’t seem to be restricting the handle or I assume it wouldn’t move at all. Any advice would be much appreciated. I have only been in the flat a year and I think the kitchen/appliances must be at least 5 years old.
Cheers

Sounds like there’s something in it that is jamming it from opening correctly.
That gives two options, try to release it through movement etc.
Remove using brute force and ignorance then replace it as it’ll likely get busted in that process.

I had the same issue on my machine, there was a few coins and half a pencil stuck in it.
I had to go in from underneath the machine, remove the drain pipe and sump to pump pipe from the pump and remove the offending pencil from the pump body in order to free up the filter cover.
It might be worth a try.September 4, 2014 at 10:31 pm #418689kwatt

If you can get it out then that is the best way.
Pulling out an integrated washer that’s got water in it, not fun, even for pros.
If it’s empty life is certainly a lot easier but it still needs to come out to do that either way.

Thanks all, I don’t have the confidence to mess with the pumps so will preserve for a bit with the circular plug/handle. If I break it, do you know where i can get a new one?

It is one of the few that comes in parts, just ask if you need it and advise what parts of it you need as the handle, seal, disc and tray are all individual items.
