    Hi all,

Hoping someone can help with this one – my miele fridge freezer (KFN14823sdED) has all of sudden decided not to work at all. Despite the heavy price tag 4 years ago, it has been diagnosed as a [possible] compressor fault.

Now the repairer has said compressor will be £300, plus fitting at £46ph and this does not guarantee it will work!

Obviously this is concerning. But my main question is…..can a used compressor from another miele fridge be used or does it have to be the same make/model? How specific is the part? (or can it be third party product?)

Considering it could cost almost £500…..is it worth it?! 😥

At that sort of money, probably not worth it.

But you can use a generic compressor normally that can reduce the cost markedly.

Thanks Kwatt, such a shame for such an expensive fridge…would have thought it would last longer than that!
