Guidance please. My LG is leaving marks on laundry that corresponds with the holes that are on the drum paddles. Investigation shows that within the paddle a grey slime/sludge is present. To clean this out I need to remove the paddle/s. My problem is I cannot find out how to gain access to the securing screw/s, which appear to be on the outside of the drum. LG support are no help. Any practical help would be much appreciated.

Don’t mess with it, instead nip to Asda/Tesco (other supermarkets are available 😉 ) and buy a packet or Dr Beckmann. Follow the instructions on the packet.

Alternatively, fill the machine drum with a bowl of hot water and mild bleach. Rotate drum so one paddle at a time is immersed in the solution and leave for 15 mins each paddle. Shut the door and set to drain only. Then do a Dr Beckmann treatment process for maximum effectiveness…… Simples! 😀

Thank you Martin for your advice. I have used 3 Dr Beckmanns’ which has had some benefit, also using dishwasher tablets On a hot wash & Tub clean. Your bleach routine has a lot of appeal which I will give a couple of goes this coming weekend. Many thanks for your reply & advice. Best Regards,

No probs and it will work though you may need several goes at it. Check the drain filter every time as that will get gunged up. And always seek to do one hot (60deg+) cycle once a week to keep it clean. 💡
