ParticipantBosch integrated fridge freezer alarm keeps going off and freezer will not reset to recommended setting of 18 even though it is all working. The setting keeps reverting to AL even after 3 days of setting it at 18 including the super setting. Any ideas on why?

It might be time for a full defrost. What is the model number anyway?

Hi
The Model is KIU26444GB. It’s a frost free model.

As Martin said try a defrost first.
Get someone to look after your food and turn it off at the mains.
Leave it off with the doors open for 48 Hours.
When you turn it back on it will most likely be ok after about 4 hours, but wait 24 hours for it to get back to normal.
It can build up ice sometimes that the frost free system cannot get rid of so try a defrost first.
If it is ok after a defrost but the problem returns after a few weeks then you have a problem with the defrost system.
The AL in the display is because it is not getting cold enough on the evaporator you may still get this when you turn it back on until it returns to normal the AL stands for Alarm not cold enough.

Cheers and thanks to both of you I will try a defrost. We haven’t got much food stored in it as we lost it all when the alarm problem happened whilst on holiday and am reluctant to replace until the problem is resolved!!!
I contacted Bosch and they only suggested an engineer visit so well worth trying this first. Thanks once again.September 15, 2014 at 3:47 pm #419229gandh1

and as it is integrated you need to make sure your cupboard doors havent shifted or the f/f hasnt shuffled about stopping the freezer door from shutting fully. even a tiny gap will over time allow enough condesnation into the freezer to overwhelm the frost free system (hence the suggestion to defrost fully)

Thanks gandh1. The door edging on the decor panel of the freezer had come adrift so that could may be the reason for the problem or at least one of them. Fingers crossed. Thank you all so much for your help.
