We sold the above machine in April and the customer is complaining that it is damaging their clothes. She said it is causing bobbling on new tracksuits and also new viscose and woollen clothing. She only uses the woollen, delicate and mixed load cycles with the type of clothing she is washing.
Obviously this never happened with her 15 year old Zanussi and she is asking for her money back.
Any advice on what might be causing this?.

    Thanks
    Merv

Next, and most obvious question, have you inspected the machine and seen the damaged clothing first hand? Your customer is within their rights to demand a replacement machine , repair or refund, unless of course you can prove it was wasn’t faulty when they bought it.

It’s got to be a damaged drum or drum paddle I would have thought or dramatic overloading issues.

I have only seen one garment. The top looked as though it was a that had been washed many times.
I checked the machine over and I couldn’t see anything wrong with it.

Tough one to call but you at least have inspected it and found nothing wrong. Your customers only option is to contact BSH to get them to check it out. That’s up to your customer though not you.

It may be a case of wrong fabric washing on the wrong cycle. Overloading or detergent abuse too. Not your problem.

    Re: Bosch WAE24369 damaging clothes

It’s not the machine. The amount of damaged cloths that have label instructions that haven’t been followed is huge. I once did a Tumble dryer fire inspection caused by the belt snapping, the only items that burnt where the ones with labels stating do not tumble dry. Same with holes in dresses that stated hand wash only. Clients just don’t read or understand the care labels. Add to that poor/cheap/old items and it’s a nightmare, old items easily identified by unreadable care labels.

Thanks, I have a feeling that it is a case of very cheap items and using the incorrect program. But they don listen when you tell them it’s not the machine that’s faulty.

The items are always expensive. They’ve not changed the way they’ve washed. It’s the machine, it’s always someone else’s fault.
