This has a four spoke external spider and looks like it might not be a nightmare of a job.
Not sure what parts to get.
Connect Dist suggest that a tub-spider seal ‘may’ be needed in addition to the Electrupart bearing and seal kit, but then lists this part as obsolete. Uk Whitegoods store shows models to which the genuine bearing and seal kit fits, and has a double asterisk against the machine in question. But there is no key to explain what the double asterisk is highlighting.
Any suggestions?

Not sure but I seem to think there are different sizes of shaft used, also some have an alloy spider, some a cast iron one.

Hi Iadom, You’re right about different bearings and spider materials. It’s a month since I completed this job but as far as I recall, even Hotpoint were not particularly knowledgeable about selection of the appropriate bearings.
Fortunately bearing dims are shown on Connect etc website, so it was a simple matter of measuring old ones.
