This td is in fact a Maytag TD602c but looks the same as CD601W

Putting damp cloth in it will run for a few mins and the heater will come on and then when it appears to stop for reverse turn it cuts out and display goes.
The condenser is clear and the water bottle empty.Cleaned out pump and no excess water down there.
There is a thermistor above the condenser Part 8083344 could that be faulty or any suggestions please.
    Thanks,
    Mike

Try it with low heat selected and see what happens. I know that’s not the answer but it may buy you time. I had one which cut out but was ok on low heat.

Cant think of anything really except air circulation problems.

    In the manual it says:

    Overheating cut-out
The overheating cut-out shuts off the tumble dryer
if the temperature is too high, e.g. because dust
    is clogging the lint filter.
    • Clean the lint filter.
    • Check also that the condensed water container
is not full and, if necessary, clean the
condenser. See the chapter “Care and
    cleaning”.
    • The overheating cut-out will reset automatically
once the machine has cooled down.

Did you check the hatch that is next to the condenser at the base to see if fan is blocked or fluffed over?

As previous poster says will it run when on cool tumble?
