Hotpoint WT741.
Just managed to replace a broken handle. This involved opening a stuck door by pushing the hook from the back of the interlock.
Now the machine works normally and finishes the cycle but will not unlock until it has been unplugged from the mains for about 5 minutes.
Turning it off from the button so that all lights go off is not sufficient.
Any ideas why?

You may have replaced an early Metalflex made interlock with the later Rold brand then have you?

No, I did not replace the interlock. Just the door handle ( a bit of plastic).

I see, so presumably it worked OK before you changed the door handle? If that was the case then perhaps the handle/male door probe are not located properly?

Makes me think now that the interlock was already broken and would not release, therefore, the handle broke when someone was trying too hard to open…
The first time I had to unlock it from inside, after the handle broke, I noticed the interlock was warm long after the machine had been off (but plugged in).
Would I need to replace the interlock, or could it be the connecting cables too?Re: hotpoint door remains locked unless machine is unplugged
I would get a new interlock, seems the way forward here. They sell them here on this site by the way.
