Hi all, I’ve been working on a washer (Hoover optima WMH 168D-80)which apparently has not worked since the customer had a power-cut a few days ago, I have changed the door interlock because that was faulty, there is power to the machine because the digital display panel is on and all the buttons work, programe selection and every thing else seems fine, also there are no error codes, my problem is when i press the pause/start button, nothing happens, the door locked sign keeps flashing and that’s it,it is supposed to stop flashing, could this be a control module issue or something else that i’m missing, I guess what I’m asking for are some possible causes that could be for stopping this machine from starting, could that power-cut have been an issue, any help on this will be greatly appreciated, thanks all.

Time to remove the power board and check for blown interlock triac or some such. Power cut may be associated to a power surge? ( If location out in the sticks with overhead power cables – very likely scenario)

Thanks Martin for your pointer, it was in fact the power board that controlled the motor, two tracks had disintegrated due to a power surge I guess also one track on the top pcb had gone, managed to salvage that one but had to get a new board for the motor (to much damage) at the end of the day washing machine has been repaired and one happy customer, once again thanks for the assistance.
