ParticipantI have a Howdens dishwasher, identical to this one:
2 days ago, at the end of one of its washing cycles, there was about an inch of water, still left inside. Initially, I put this down to the drain tube (under the sink) perhaps having slipped and moved out of position (as it needs to be higher than the sink plug so water from the sink plug does not drain backwards into the dishwasher). I checked under the sink, and low and behold, the tube was indeed, not located properly so I adjusted it.
I then put the dishwasher on another washing cycle and after it had finished, the water inside, had gone, so thought that was that.
Then yesterday, the dishwasher decided to stop working altogether?! 🙁
It has power, however, upon selecting ANY cycle, it just hums and does nothing. I researched this a little and found a few button presses which would show an error code, so tried this out and it is giving an ‘E2’ error code.
It seems that it is something to do with the ‘flood activating switch’ or something and looks like there is no easy fix for this as the machine needs to be pulled out and one of the sides needs opening up to get to the insides to have a look around.
Is there any way I can simply reset the dishwasher in order to get it going again – without having to call someone one to pull the machine out and take it apart (its all integrated and sits underneath a granite work top!)?

Hi.
Its a Diplomat HJA 8640.
I managed a few button presses which showded an E2 error (very briefly) however, none of the programs will work.
The dishwasher just hums and does nothing. I am wondering if it probably easier/cheaper just to buy a new integrated one instead of getting this one repaired?!
