I wonder if someone could help me, please? My Miele W806 keeps filling with water. I have never had the problem before, but it just keeps filling and won’t stop. When the problem first occurred, it did cut out sometimes when it filled i.e. there was a faint clicking sound and the water stopped, then it started to fill again and another click, then it was fill, click, fill click, but now it just fills and fills. Everything else seems to be working ok. My son took off the solenoid, (never heard one of one these before) and cleaned out the hoses. It seemed to work for a while but then reverted to filling without stopping.I see there is also a part called a capacitor suppressor. Why is the machine overfilling, please? And what can I do to solve the problem. Thank you in anticipation of your help. 🙂

Probably the air bottle channel is blocked which controls the pressure switch,The front of the appliance will need to be opened to gain access.So I would recommend an engineer visit.

Thank you very much for your reply. If it isn’t a silly question, is the air bottle channel being blocked anything to do with hard water? Over the years, the machine has only gone wrong due to build up of scale as a result of us living in a hard water area.
My son is very practical, could he not fix the problem?

More likely due to doing low temperature washing and not carrying out service washes. (90oc washes).

Thank you again. I have got the problem sorted. It was the pressure switch air hose, which following an earlier repair, due to a hard water issue, had been left against a moving part and had worn through causing a small hole. I bought a new piece of hose and my son fitted it. The water supply now cuts out on filling when it should. All the best.
