    Hi,

    Wonder if you can help.

Have just had the house rewired, and upon refitting the washing machine it keeps tripping the electrics…

    Model: Hotpoint Aqualtis AQ113D697E

As the machine was stored in an outside shed whilst the work was carried out, I’ve left it to dry out (with some help from a hairdryer!), now it only trips the electrics when a programme is started. It seems to coincide with the door locking…

Have taken the interlock out and it’s clean, and dryed with a hairdryer, so fairly confident now that it’s not water ingress. Thinking it mustbe the interlock itself?

Would you agree with my layman’s diagnostic? If so, what part do I need?

    Thanks in advance,

    Sam

The only way you can find out what is causing the problem is to megger all components for insulation leaks. It could be just about anything and the fact it occurs as soon as the door locks does not mean the lock is faulty.

Very rare for a door lock to cause this.
