Hi, could anyone help with my 5 months old washer. Came home to find water all over the floor after a wash. Opened the door and found the bottom of the door seal had a tear in it like it had been cut with a knife. Something must have got trapped in the door and ripped it.
I have searched online for a replacement door seal and any information on how to replace it but had no luck. I suspect a Panasonic call out would cost a fortune as they would not allow it to be repaired under warranty.
I have done a temporary repair with superglue so we can get some washing done but it still leaks, just not as bad.

So far as I know Glen Dimplex were doing the service on Panasonic as well as spare parts.

I wouldn’t expect it to be cheap. 🙁

Thanks for the reply. I thought maybe I could repair it myself but can’t even find a spare part for it or any help on how to fit it. I was hoping that it would be possible to release the holding spring on the front and twist it so the tear would be at the top but doubt it would be that simple. Looking at other machines there is usually one at the rear of the seal as well, so would think my one has one as well.
I searched the database of repairers on here and none came up.

    Re: Panasonic NA-140VS4 Door Seal

Yeah, Panasonic have sorta got their own thing going on there with spares /service and there’s not many people been invited to the party. Hence you may find that not a lot of repairers will look at a Panasonic machine.

There will be a front and rear retaining band so, you can’t do what you thought you might be able to I’m afraid and, normally, seals are shaped anyway these days so you wouldn’t usually be able to do that anyway.

Instructions to fit any particular part are, at best, rare but mostly non-existent. The best you will normally get are generic instructions such as this:

If its only 4 months old why are you concerned with repairing it yourself, I have done them & its not an easy job.
Surely its better to have it done free of charge under warranty by the manufacturers service technicians, I don’t think there would be an issue with it not being covered by warranty.

Really, as this type of fault is almost 99.9{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} due to customer misuse you still think it would be done under warranty?

Yeah, I do warranty work for many companies & i’ve never put a tear in a door seal down to customer misuse.
    No skin off my nose.

Might be and issue to the manufacturers and importers that read these forums.

I reject calls all the time for that sort of thing.
