ParticipantHi folks
Went to this a couple of days ago as customer was complaining about a rattle on empty.
Sounded like typical pump rattle. Stripped filter and pump no sign of anything in there. Rattle was intermitant, rattled more on emptying rather than when empty, but just typical pump rattle. Only option was to change pump.
Bit of a weird pump fitted, made by HANYU :con: with a weird what looks like a TOC by the coils (but not sure) and was a 30wt. motor. Looked on line as I have 30wt pumps on my van but both Qualtex and Connect not showing alternative so ordered up a gen pump.
Went back today and fitted pump and has the same rattle (if not worse).
Has anyone come across this before? Are they just crap made pumps? Is what looks like an external TOC really a TOC or something different. Has anyone just replaced these with a 30wt Ascoll which I’m inclined to do and send the other pump back as faulty?
Thanks
Mick

Thanks Martin
Looks like it might be just a TOC then to protect the quality pump :rolls: .
Think Ascoll pumps come with an inbuilt TOC in the windings – looks like I will be returning the quality pump thats at risk of setting fire then :rotfl:
Thanks again
Mick

Racist bigot. Thank god not everybody shares your misguided interpretation of a nations abilities verses demand for cheap products. That same attitude is found in people with the stereo typical view of British manufactured products, although memories have been lost in history, mixed with sentiment and a huge dose of arrogance. I guess some people missed out on history lessons thanks to Hitler interrupting the school day.

It’s no good moaning about Chinese “quality” when it’s an opinion not having a component on a component, it’s likely a manufacturer demanding not to have it fitted and it’s passed EU and UK safety guidance/regulation/standards. But hey like all ignorant Brits, let’s bring in immigration and then complain or demand crap and then blame those dumb Chinese for making it.

Hey guys
What’s happened to your sense of humour :con:
I didn’t want to open a political debate here – most countries are guilty of making crap machines and crap components these days – it’s a sign of the times we live in, where the fast buck and instant profit rule. Mostly it’s governed by peoples greed in trying to obtain as much as they can for as little as possible.
You can’t blame manufactures whatever their nationality for providing what people want. Cheap washing machines that look like they will perform wonders.
Trouble is that it doesn’t help us poor engineers that have to work on these machines – where ever they are made.
The only thing that can keep us sane is a sense of humour! If you read those instructions you can either disappear into the realms of despondency or smile to keep yourself from doing so and make light of it.
Come on folks – lighten up a bit.
Mick

I tried humor, Martin’s hard work though & is UK whitegoods resident ego. I do enjoy reading crap though, that’s pretty funny.

Driving you to distraction is it Jim.. Rather than Unicorn Poo you are now calling it Unicron Poo so that you psychologically have no need to hear the phrase…Although, what you say is correct… Unicorn Poo is the same as Rocking Horse Shit… and both mean Rare as Hell

Well spotted George. :clown:
In fact if you did actually have something that really was Unicorn Poo it would not be junk, it would be unbelievably valuable due to its rarity.
