I have an Ariston Margherita AWD12 which is doing the rotating dial thing.
I have checked the drain filter and removed a coin and a stick, but the machine is still refusing to run a program, and showing 2 flashes repeatedly.
I understand this is a motor fault, or possibly PCB fault.
I have checked the motor and all seems well (I replaced the brushes last year), but having removed the PCB it appears there may be a burn-out on one of the components.
The burn-out shown is under the lowest of the black cubes.

My question: Is it possible to replace whatever that component is, or could even adding a blob of solder to the joint underneath be worth a try?
    Thank you,
    Matt

Clean the pin and apply a blob of solder, a new pcb will need programming and will cost plenty so you have little to lose.

That’s what I was hoping you would say.

I’ve just cleaned it and applied said blob of solder, and I am delighted to report that the machine appears to be working perfectly again! 😀

Despite the slagging these get on the forum, I have to say mine has been a workhorse for 12 years now, with almost daily use for the last 8. Maybe I got a good one – the PCB says Ariston and not Indesit – but whatever, I’m very glad it’s still going strong.

Thank you kindly for the quick reply.

    Cheers,
    Matt
