Well, after 6 full years my trusty Asko Model DW20.1 dishwasher, (alias a Maytag MSE661FARW,) is scrap!
Apparently, water has leaked onto the circulation pump motor & heater causing an earth short. The engineer seemed to think that a welded seam on the stainless steel inner tub was defective and water had found its way onto the pump.
Attempts to locate spare parts via Maytag or Asko or anywhere else has proved futile,- not good for an appliance supposedly built to last 15 years plus!
So the long & short of the matter is that I now have to source a new dishwasher.
Unfortunately, my budget won’t stretch to the new ISE / Asko dishwasher so I’m now considering the Miele G4210 – the cheapest unit in their range.
Although I have misgivings over Miele’s servicing & spare parts costs & my chosen model only comes with a 2 year warranty, I do want something well built & (unlike my Asko,) with spares backup over its hopefully long life.
Any opinions on this particular Miele model or should I consider another route?
My budget is around the £450 mark.
Many thanks.
