My integrated smeg dishwasher has locked shot with a full load inside!!
There is no water inside as it wasn’t switched on. Without resorting to a large hammer what should we do. We’ve bought some new bowls in the interim!Re: dishwasher locked shut

The “turn-over” latch in the door has broken. You could force it (it will have to be replaced anyway), or you can slip the machine forward and undo the “striker” on the dishwasher roof. When freed, the door will open with the striker still attached.If you can advise the model and serial number spares@ukwhitegoods.com will be able to identify and supply a replacement for you. The numbers are (of course 🙄 ) on the edge of the door…………..

As its intergrated, no doubt it is screwed to the worktop making it not possible to ‘slip the machine forward’ as suggested. We can usually open these by vigourously shaking the door while pulling forward. Works every time.
Some smeg models also have a lockable door by way of sliding the outer decor panel down to expose the secondary display. Many users dont know they have this feature until someone accidently pushes down on the door at some point. just make sure this is not the case by lifting the door panel upwards first.
