    Hi,i have the above dishwasher which is displaying an unknown error code.
    As soon as it is turned on it is flashing the 4th and 5th lights together and no action at all from the machine.
    If i hold the start button down to reset the program, after a few seconds the 3rd light will light up instead until the start button is released, and then it just goes back to flashing the 4th and 5th lights.

    I don’t know this machine but I would check the power supply capacitors as they can cause spurious faults. I have had a couple of smegs that wouldn’t reset out of fault condition till you gave them a new genuine fault (e.g. Anti flood activated).

    do you mean try activating the base pan float to reset the fault?
    I will also try a new mains suppressor.

    Yes try activating the anti flood switch as it may then clear the unknown fault from memory.
