ParticipantHi
The dryer on my Ariston seems to have stopped working. The machine still spins the clothes round, completing the cycle. They come out cold (and wet) though.I have some repairs cover from the debit card that I bought it with – but wondered if there was anything ‘easy’ I could try before going through the rigmarole of calling someone out.
The manual says I should be covered for parts – and gives a support number. Is this any good?
thanks alot

The thermal fuse has probly blown and will need a part to be replaced.
there may be something thats caused it to blow – best to have it checked. If you have cover through your credit card – ring them and get an engineer out,
As for your parts cover you have a 5 year parts guarantee with ariston as long as you pay them around £90 for the call out.

Hi Clyde
Thanks for that – much appreciated. A call to Ariston, and a bill for £90 to Royal Bank of Scotland, I think!cheers

Gavin,
If you have parts cover then thats fine and a contact to get it fixed is an easy solution for you I shouldn’t wonder. As to what’s wrong? Well that could be a number of things, and if you wish to take the self help option then you will have to furnish us with more information including the actual Model number of the appliance 🙂

Thanks Martin
Given that my electrical skills are best described as ‘catastrophic’ 😯 , I think I will bail out and call Ariston!
cheers – great site by the way

Give the bank of scotland a ring before the repair. some card companies use
domestic and general insurance. If they do use d&g get the policy details and ariston will bill them direct – so you shouldn’t need to claim back the repair cost.
