Does anyone know exactly what was done or changed on this recall, was it the control pcb?

I have a call this afternoon to a Hotpoint DWF34, customer says it had an engineer to ‘do something’ because it was one of the appliances listed for recall.

Says it was done 3 months ago and it is now taking three times as long on a programme?

Not sure if it has been like this since the recall, she sounded a bit vague about that.

    Bosch/Hotpoint dishwasher recall?

The Control Unit is changed in all instances and should be configured correctly for each model variant otherwise progs are all screwed up.

    Oh no it isn’t. 😉

I have taken a picture that I will post up later when I get a minute.
The mod done on this DWF34 is a small, white box and some alteration to some of the wiring going into the control module.

Turns out this one was playing up and not heating before the mod was done.

Examined the pcb and spotted a dry joint on the relay, sadly the blob of solder did not cure the no heat fault so suspect the relay itself is at fault, heater, wiring, and all of the fill chamber bits are AOK.

Here is the little doofer fitted to this dishwasher by Indesit engineer, the control module is original.

That is the new repair kit which is fitted instead of replacing the module. It adds a piggy back relay to the heater relay on the module to prevent the overheating fault.

Thanks for that info Paul, it was a bit wasted on this machine as the relay had failed even before the mod was done. 🙂
