We have the above machine which is approx 6 years old. It has been working fine but just recently has stopped drying. It completes the cycle correctly but the clothes come out cold.

We have had an engineer out who diagnosed the problem as being a fault with the motor control module. From our own research this seems to correct motor faults only and is nothing to do with drying!!

Can anyone help diagnose the problem? Also how do we stand if the part is fitted and doesn’t fix the problem? I don’t want them to come fit an incorrect part (costing £80) if we then have to pay out again for the correct part!

if you diagnose the fault and get it wrong its your problem also if you buy a part and it fails very quickly its also your problem whereas if an engineer fitted it there would be a guarantee
the tumble dryer has a separate fan motor and a heater element plus thermostats if any of these fail your dryer wont work
and as the engineer said it could also be the control board
to diagnose the fault you have to be familiar with electrical testing techniques
