    Hi everyone

Hoping to get some advice. I’ve got a Beko WME7247 washing machine that’s not heating. The machine feels cold even on a 90 wash and clothes come out cold too. I did a diagnostics test and got error code ‘E02’, which I understand means a problem with the heater circuit.

My guess is that the heating element needs replacing or maybe there’s a problem with the PCB or circuitry to the element. That said, the machine works fine otherwise – goes through the normal motions of a cycle, just coldly, so wouldn’t that suggest the PCB is okay?

The door seal could do with replacing too as it’s got all moldy/mildewy and that’s proving pretty tricky to get rid of completely.

So, my question is, any idea what a ballpark figure is of how much this is likely to cost to fix? New heating element, new door seal, labour to fit, possibly labour to troubleshoot if it’s not the element, etc. The machine’s coming up for four years old and cost around £240 I think. I suspect it might be more economical just to buy a new one! Any advice greatly received.

    Thanks
    Rich.

its one of those questions that you cant answer until you know the fault and the area you live because lab prices vary across the country

the only way you are going to get an estimate is to ring a local engineer and get a cost based on what you think it is. Then if you like the price you will have to pay him to come out and give you an accurate one

    Re: Beko WME7247 not heating

Thanks for the post Dave. If it helps, I’m in South East London, which I guess means labour prices will be high, right?

I understand that it’s hard to say exactly how much it would be to fix and yes, we don’t know exactly what the fault is, but for argument’s sake, let’s just say it needs a new heating element to be fitted and then the new door gasket. Given that situation, anyone got any idea of a very rough cost to fix? Less than £100? More than £150?

Basically, I don’t want to spend a whole lot of money on a machine that’s four years old and only cost £240 to start with! 🙂

    Thanks
    Rich.

That’s great, thanks for your insight Dave.

Given that we’re talking at least £100 (possibly more if that doesn’t fix it!) I think I’m in the market for a new washing machine! 🙂

    Thanks again,
    Rich.
