    Hi,

I have a Zanussi ZSF6161 dishwasher. The mains water tap was turned off last night due to an unrelated tap problem. Today the machine would not function properly and gave an i10 error.

I figured that the mains tap was not unscrewed fully causing a lack of water to be fed to the machine. After unscrewing the tap and going back and forth a few times. the dishwasher finally kicked back into action.

However i am noticing that a small steady stream of water is coming out of the orange soft water swith area. It’s not “pissing” out of it by any stetch but just gently running down the inside of the dishwasher as it leaves the switch area, even when off. Is this normal practice?

    Regards,
    Damien

It’s probably the drain off of a small amount of water from that reservoir. It should stop in a matter of seconds though. If not then prepair to man the lifeboats because the water inlet valve is not shutting off…!

Is there any solution? because the water keeps coming in. We can turn it off at the inlet tap behind the dishwasher but it’s not a long term solution.

    Replace the water inlet valve.

    cool sticks,

We removed the valve and noticed a fair amount of silt in it. Cleaned it and are gonna try it again hoping that the silt was what was keeping the valve open. IF it continues i’ll get a new valve.

    Many Thanks,
    Damien
