Help from you experts please !
My mums old double oven belling drops the top oven/grill door. Having repaired my own, many years ago, I confidently ordered new oven door springs. On arrival they are almost exactly identical to the broken ones, but I can not get them to fit so that they close door! In fact, the only way I can get them to fit, they prevent the door closing!!
Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated

you have the springs reversed, the left on the right and so on. A real headscratcher sometimes but perseverance is the name of the game…just don’t attempt to use brute force (means they are still in the wrong position), and it will suddenly become clear!

I have a Belling double eighty which I acquired second hand (it was in the flat when I moved in, and the seller was a landlord who had acquired it with the flat) with no manual etc. It has what sounds like exactly the same problem, and I am interested to know whether you managed to fix the problem with the springs you got – if so, how long did it take?
All I have to determine the model is the name on the top and a tag that gives a list number and serial number. Is this enough to work out what the part(s) needed to make the top oven/grill door spring up again? (If I could get a handle for the same door, that would be good too!) I have tried the “shop” cookers/springs in this website and it seems to suggest it doesn’t have any in stock. Could you tell me please where you managed to find the springs, and any model specification number you needed for this?

To be honest, they aren’t in the shop as we rarely get asked for them anymore, it’s a very old model now, none the less, a good model.
