    Hi All,

First post here and looking for some advice. My Hotpoint VTD00 6kg vented tumble dryer recently suffered from a broken drum shaft and bearing so I bought a new genuine hotpoint kit to replace these parts along with the front and rear foam seals and belt. I watched the excellent guide here which had my model of dryer in the video:

The repair went well and the dryer now turns as normal. However, last week, we noticed that water was leaking from the front of the machine onto the floor after around 30 mins use. Im guessing that steam is escaping from somewhere. I did reopen the dryer and fit the 16mm front seal that came with the kit as opposed to the 14mm seal which I originally put on (the 16mm should have been on in the first place) but it has made no difference and there is still a leak.

Has anyone got any ideas or is it time for it to go in the bin? I have told the mrs not to use it again until its sorted. Any advice much appreciated.

Air is leaking into the cabinet and the moisture is condensing on the cold steel. Is if vented externally ?

Check you vent pipe is clear and not crushed or blocked and the air from the drier is going outside, put your hand over the vent outside and you should have a good flow of air when it’s on.

Finally did you refit the black pipe back in correctly that goes from the front air duct to the rear panel when the hose connects as this can also cause it
