Hotpoint FFA91 Fridge Not Freezing & Fridge Section Warm

Hi all

My daughter rang this morning to say her FFA91 has gone on the blink. I think she only noticed it when she realised it was not making the clunk on/off that it usually does. Anyway when she checked it the top drawer of the freezer where she had some ice pops she found they ere melting & gradually the rest of it defrosted. I checked the motor & it is red hot & running continuously it seems & the radiator wires at the back are room temp. Am i right in thinking it’s probably a gassing issue & if so is it worth re-gassing as it’s about 8 years old. If i’m not right anyone got any ideas what to check first ?

For now i have i unplugged it & told her to give it 48 hours to manually defrost although i’m not convinced that will make much difference
