ParticipantGuys,
Getting the E33 code on an aegL86810 washer, with the help of the guides on the site, I removed the air pressure tubes tested and refitted, I have replaced the smaller analogue air pressure sensor and still get the same error, I then tested the heating element with a multimeter, I am getting a closed circuit across the element prongs, How would I test a leak to earth (EDIT Did test to earth one prong on the element and one to earth was open circuit) also when the heating element is disconnected the washer diags did get a bit further, might of be co-incidence though, also I did find what looks like a bit of broken off metal in the filter, about the width of a metal coat hanger, looks like a bit off a clip for something, any help appreciated, the less time my mother in law spends with my smalls the better.
Thanks
Gaz

fault is listed with the following
pressure switch faulty, heater faulty to earth , heater fault . faulty wiring, blocked pressure chambers or main board
you have changed pressure switch, you can disconnect heater to eliminate earth faults. i dont think this machine knows if heater is open circuit so once disconnected you can ignor this fault, unless its a wiring fault, (remove and replace all connections on main board)
looks like you may have a main board fault

Dave,
I have replaced the smaller pressure switch, but not the larger, I can hear the larger one click when blown into, it clicks twice at various levels of pressure, so I assume this one is ok, when the heater is fully disconnected it did throw up another code, forgot to note that down, but with the heater plugged in to the mainboard and the element disconnected the pre-wash test did actually fill to the right level and spin, so I assume the pressure switches are working, with all the heater wires connected the drum it just fills and fills.
Although the heater element does seem to be warming the water up.Gaz

Dave,
Just spotted this retaining clip as a spare part, the bit I found looks like it has broke off this, where does it live ? this is the cause of the problem.
EDIT( I believe this holds the element in place, if it has snapped it may be causing the short)
Heating Element now on Order.Cheers

ParticipantRe: AEG L86810 E33 (Solved)
After replacing the element retaining spring and new element, this solved the problem, the old element had been rubbing against the metal drum, creating the leak to earth.
Cheers
