I have a Bosch SHV55M03GB/56 dishwasher.
Runs ok but noticed not cleaning well recently and realised not heating.
Have removed side panels and checked cleaning water running ok.
Did a reset and got error code C2, which I believe points to heating element. Element does have a few drops of brown sludge on casing.Am I right in thinking I need a new heating assembly, pn. 488856 or should I do a continuity test on element terminals to confirm first?
Found a Youtube which shows how to do this for a similar model or should I leave it to a professional, if so how long/much would you estimate?

you need to find out what the fault is
it could be
1 the heater
2 themal cut out
3 programmer or wiringgets expensive if you get it wrong

Thanks for the reply.
I have checked the heater resistance and it is 23 Ohms, which makes me think it might still be ok.
Have removed door and looked at the control panel, which shows no obvious signs of a problem. I might try and dismantle and check solder joints.
I am guessing thermal cut out is the cheapest to replace, so might try that first.Re: Dishwasher not heating
most likely is bad solder joints on board
cut out is on top of heater box you can check it with a meter as wire goes to stat then heater

Had the same problem with my Smeg. Traced the fault to a broken wire where the loom goes from underside to the door. Every time you open and close the door the wires are flexed and eventually break. Although I’m not familiar with your machine, I suspect that all makes use a similar wiring layout. Well worth checking this out before buying expensive parts.
