Hello,
Looking for some advice please.
My AEG dishwasher tripped out due to the leak detection microswitch.
Once i had drained the water from the base I ran the machine with the sides off to trace the leak.
It seems to be coming from behind the regeneration doser on the LHS of the machine.
So i took the doser tank off and cleaned all the grommets / seals. No obvious blockages.
Reassembled, and still leaking. The leak is obvious when the mains water is running through the doser at the start of the cycle. It looks like it is coming from water flowing out of the rectangular hole that is cut in the back of the doser. Cant understand why this would happen as the hole is obviously meant to be there! My thoughts a the moment are that there is some sort of blockage in the sump area and as a result the water is not running out of the doser as quick as it should and therefore some is spilling out of this window.
Just wanted to check to see if anyone has come across anything similar before i go further as stripping out the pipes and sump bits looks like a big job!

Certainly sounds like a blockage between the metering tank and the sump…no need to strip the sump out. Once you have the metering tank off you should be able to see the tube where the water enters the tub and clean it out with something like a small bottle brush.

Thanks for the reply Clive.
I removed the rubber pipe from between the bottom of the metering tank and the sump and it was completely clear, also could see and feel inside the sump this is clear in the bit I can see with the hose off.
So I’m still stumped with this. As a temporary measure I have put heat proof tape over the window in the tank an pierced a few air holes in it. This effectively stops the water spilling out of this window for now so I can use the machine. I know this is a bit of a bodge though so need to finish the job.
The only other thing I can see is a bit of discolouration like scale in the tank so it may be a bit blocked in one of the water ways in the tank restricting flow.
I’m going to try some descaling fluid through the tank next and see if I can clean it up.
