I have recently inherited a Bosch Dishwasher SGV53EO3GB/56. It refused to complete a normal program, sounding as if it was stuck in some particular cycle. So I followed instructions and opened the door, did a reset and turned the machine off. There was water left in the base which I largely removed and then checked for blockages in and around filters and pump as prescribed in the handbook. Nothing was obvious. On re-starting,none of the control lights come on and the machine just whirrs away in a ‘stuck’ mode. Any ideas?
Yes most likely there is water in the base panel of the cabinet and it’s now on it’s flood protection. You need to first need to get rid of that so it will run and can be tested…
Plug out, lid off, RHS panel off and tip gently onto it’s RHS on a towel…water will flow out (a pint or so)
Reassemble, plug back in and run on a cycle (any) to check that it drains successfully.
