My Zanussi washer dryer stopped working mid wash. The display went off and no power is getting to the machine.

I’ve tried swapping out the fuse and trying another appliance in the socket the machine uses. Both the fuse and the socket are fine. After reading some forum posts I took the top off the machine to check for scorch marks on the circuit board. There seem to be some scorch marks on the main board around a couple of components.

Are the marks around components that can be removed? Such as capacitors? I usually fix devices, and items like capacitors ect can be unsoldered and replaced like for like for a few pence.

    Thanks for the reply!

I think it’s just the components – though I’m not totally sure so have uploaded a couple of photos in case you’re able to advise. There is a large square component that looks the most affected (middle of the first photo) but then there are three other components that also look like they could be affected: the two small cylindrical in the bottom right quarter of the first photo and the blue circular one in the top right corner of the second photo). I’m not sure if the three other compoents are scorched or just dirty though due to the first component scorching. Are you able to tell which components are affected from the photo? If so are you able to tell what the components are so I could order them?

    Thanks again,

there are high voltages on these components so the get a black dust around them over time

the little transformer on the top photo is part of the board power supply along with a small chip on the other side of the board.

unless you understand electronics repairing the board is beyond you. if you are certain power is getting to the board then you can but pre-configured boards to replace it
