ParticipantHi All, i was hoping someone could give me advice prior to calling in an engineer
My Beko 2542 FS has developed a fault
when i start the dishwasher any water drains and you can here it going into the drain pipe,
The dishwasher will then fill with water, if i open the dishwasher at this point when the fill cycle has starter i can see water down in the filter.. If i leave the dishwasher from here it waits a few minutes and then drains itself. It does this constantly and doesnt actually start the wash cycle,Could anyone offer any advice. I’ve had the bottom off the Dishwasher and i cant see any signs of leakage or anything else

No errors reported, flashing lights or suchlike?
Sounds like it either thinks there’s a leak or the heater is OC but, guess at best.

Hi Kwatt thanks for the reply.
No errors showing up, i did find a pipe going from the filter housing up into the higher parts of the dishwasher that was really clogged, ive removed it and cleaned it and just going through a cycle now (pre wash only)
but it appears to be doing the same still..January 10, 2015 at 4:52 pm #423462MrSyko

I took what i think was the heater out, the part behind the polystyrene float? and had a look at the pump on the motor, the pump blades rotate ok. there doesnt appear to be a leak anywhere
as typing its just done another fill and empty..

Does it work on a rinse/hold program?

Its cycling through fill/drain now on setting one pre-wash no heat
so that possibly rules out the heater?

KeymasterRe: Beko 2542 FS Problem
If it works on a rinse/hold then the heating circuit or something on it is likely at fault.
If it doesn’t work on that then you’ve not ruled in or out anything.

It doesnt work on any setting at all 🙁

1 is pre-wash (no heat)
2 is rapid
3 is eco
4 is quick and clean
5 is intensivealso a half load option which again makes no difference

Could be anything then, without an error or something to go on it’s not really possible to diagnose with any degree of certainty.
Wash motor would be where I’d start looking though and go from there.
