KeymasterHello one and all,
My mother-in-law’s machine at certain stages in the wash cycle lets in water but then doesn’t stop.
At the start of the program it fills/stops/washes but then at a certain fill it just doesn’t stop and keeps filling.
After advice from my local parts supplier i purchased a pressure switch but the problem still exists.
I thought it could be the solenoids, but why would they all ways work at the beginning of the program and not in the middle of a cycle?
I’ve removed the tube from the pressure switch and blew down the tube and even removed the other end of the tube to make sure there were no blockages at the drum end – nothing.
i even replaced the card and the same problem happens. But the worst part is that it is an intermittant problem. 75{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of the time it doesn’t work and then for no apparent reason it will go through the whole cycle without a hitch.
Is there a level switch that i’m noyt aware of?
Can anyone help please – i’m at a total loss.
Thanks in advance,
Ged

Ged,
Take a real close look at the pressure tube again. Almost always they rub against the tub and puncture….always replace the hose before even thinking of replacing the pressure switch. :lesson:
Also the cold valve will usually fail on the dryer side and to be certain you’ve sorted the machines problems totally, simply replace that valve AND the hose

KeymasterMartin,
Thanks for the advice, you were spot on.
Took off the hose and although there were a few worn places where the hose had rubbed against the tub – nothing to suspect a cut or tear.
Placed the tube in a basin of water, held one end and blew. And right enough bubbles appeared.
Just a tiny pin hole, but enough to have me tearing my hair out.Once again your advice is much appreciated.
Cheers
G.
