    Hi

I have an 18 month old Whirlpool American Style fridge freezer with the following problem:

The temp displays on the freezer door flash and also there is no ice being created although the water dispenser works fine. Both problems started at the same time.

Has anyone else had or heard of this problem? Any advice would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

Sounds like a problem with both the main pcb and the user pcb. However, these boards are not cheap. Best get someone in to confirm before paying out for the boards.

    Hi

Thanks for that. I thought it was electronic related……..are these PCBs in the door of the freezer or in the bottom of the unit.

    Cheers

    Rich.

The main module is at the rear of the machine and the user module is the complete panel on the freezer door.
If the date code for the machine is prior to week 33 03 then you must replace both modules as the older user module is incompatible with the new main modules.

You should complain like hell to whirlpool customer care, the original boards were crap and extremely poor in reliability terms. The modified ones (as in the above post) are uncompatable with the originals therefore double your repair costs. All this down to Whirlpool product reliability!!!!!

0870 600 8989 will give you the options to choose Service or customer care… good luck, you’ll need it.
