    Hi,

    During a wash cycle I tried to cancel the cycle and the machine made a crackling noise that sounded like a hoover running over something it shouldn’t.

    Since then the machine starts to wash but the cycle didn’t count down correctly, ie it would get to 31 mins then stay like that for ages and then show as END.

    It doesn’t drain or get to the spin cycle, and when i attempted to cancel the cycle again the machine just stayed with the play button flashing and the door locked.

    I had to power the machine off to disable the lock and empty the water via the hose at the front panel. Now everytime I turn the machine back on it wants to stay in the paused cycle, the door will lock when I close it and non of the buttons on the panel are responsive.

    Does this sound like a cheap repair job or something more sinister like the control panel is goosed?

    I don’t want to waist money on a repair that I could put towards replacing it with a new machine.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    well first off i would open the filter and check the pump.

    good chance you will find Hairclip, bra wire, curtain hook or others jamming the pump impellor

    remaove filter and get down with a torck and look inside. make sure there is nothing jamming the impellor ( white cross)

    beware if you remove filter and the machine is full of water you may end up paddling

    You sir are a legend!!!

    I’d already reckoned to clean it out twice before (paddling :D)

    When I got a torch their was a hair clip stuck right at the side that caused it to jam. Took it out turned machine back on and it then finished it’s spin cycle.

    Just done a self clean cycle and it’s just over half way through so touch wood when I get up for work in the morning all will be good.

    Given the track record of Beko appliances catching fire, headlines in the national newspapers, recall announcements etc, the complacency of the great British public continues to amaze. Here we have a machine that has failed, pump cleared of obstructions then, rather than airing on the side of caution, the owner leaves it to complete a “self clean cycle” and goes to bed….!

    I hope for your sake babbelquack “in the morning all will be good” and that fire and flood haven’t interrupted your sleep pattern.

    As I get up at 4am and I’m lucky if I get 5 hours sleep when on earlies I was happy to take the risk on this occasion.

    Thanks for your concern though, as a noob it made me feel wanted!
