ParticipantWe recently changed the PCB in a Whirlpool oven and the new board came up with “F3” on startup, which is “RTD (temp sensor probe) open circuit”. Since then I have been trying to get one.
DETAILS: Model AKZM754/ix oven
Serial No. 852575438002The sensor plugs into the control board with with tiny moulded plug that slides over 2 upright pins on the PCB. However – The one shown as a “probe” on the Whirlpool site for this model (and on Connect’s site) has amp tags. I have tried to get some sense out of Whirlpool without success. Maybe just a wrong photo?
Can anyone help with this?
Thanks

Hi Bryan
That is the one with the amp tags – see my original posting – at least per the photo on the Whirlpool site. It would not fit.February 4, 2015 at 9:21 pm #424396admin

That is the actual manufactures part as per your 85 product number taken from the official tech website. Where are you looking at a picture of it as whirlpool site doesnt have pictures that show tags or one wire

Hi Bryan
Going to http://www.whirlpool.co.uk and clicking on Spare Parts takes you to http://www.4whirlpool.co.uk and entering the number you gave me (480121101179) comes up with “Whirlpool Probe” Stock No: 2566213OH plus 3 photos showing a probe with amp tag ends. That is what I am going on. We have sent a query up to W’pool technical who have said the above is indeed the wrong part and they are “contacting the manufacturers” to source the “correct one”. All this has taken a week so far. My customer is in fact being very patient! Have you actually seen the part in question? I much appreciate you help in this by the way. If it wasn’t a fifty quid part I would just buy it in to see if the photos were wrong…Mike

Yes I know. Funny though that it is out of stock at Connect but in stock at “4Whirlpool”.
I have had a “reply” from Whirlpool support, in the form of an almost illegible exploded view of the oven and a request to “tell them which part I need from the diagram” Absolutely useless! Wast of time. Obviously not read my email. What would you suggest – that I assume the photos are wrong and just order the part? I won’t hold it against you if it is the wrong part! Also I could just cut-and-join to the correct connector if needed. One could assume all the RTDs used in W’pool ovens have the same resistance-against-temperature curves….
Cheers
