    Hello!

I have a Hotpoint RL64P larder fridge that is refusing to cool properly. Regardless of which thermostat dial setting picked, it never gets below about 14 degrees C. The fridge did have a build up of ice around the cold plate at the back when we noticed the issue, but the problem remained after it was defrosted.

Any advice on what is wrong and how to fix? I’ve read on here that the thermostat might be at fault, but would be grateful for an expert’s opinion!

    Cheers.

    Hi

It’ll probably be a system fault and you’ll need a engineer visit

Not sure an engineer visit is worth it for a fridge we bought cheap second-hand. Shame, as it made a good beer fridge! Had hoped it was an easy fix, like a knackered thermostat or something.
