Hello,
I recently bought a Hoover HNL7146 washing machine second hand to replace my old washing machine which has died. Whenever trying to start the washing machine water will go into the machine and the drum will spin for roughly 5 seconds, stop and then spin again for around 5 and then stop indefinitely. I have cleaned the filter, detached and clean both the water supply and drainage hose and made certain there are no kinks in the pipes but I am unable to determine what is wrong or how to fix it. The powder and fabric conditioner stay in the dispenser drawer and are never released into the machine. The water will also stay in the drum causing me to manually drain the machine every single time I need the door to open to get my clothes out. I have consulted the user manual and have searched online for what the cause may be but have had no luck. I am rather desperate for a fix as with this machine and my old one I have been unable to wash my clothes for 2 weeks now. Any input is appreciated.

The initial spin, I have noticed something rather strange upon further examination. The drain/spin cycles work when I set the machine to do only that. The rinse function does not. When setting the washing to a 40 wash which is what I want the problem occurs, I currently have the machine on 50 (synthetics) and it is currently acting how a washing should. I will update once the cycle has finished to see. Could it be that some programs aren’t working, if this is the case then why?
