I have a friend who owns a BEKO WMB81221LS washing machine. She says it’s not reaching maximum spin speed and leaving her “Frillies a little wet” 😀 .
It appears to complete the whole wash cycle, so I believe the control board to be good?
There are no other faults/fault codes shown
Is it possible that the Brushes are worn on the motor and that they are being thrown off the commutator as it speeds up?? I’ve yet to take the motor out and have a look.

By the sound of it its not going to be the motor firstly this machine will not spin properly if the wash load is unbalanced by that I mean a few light items and one heavy item that sort of thing secondly it will only perform a full spin on the cottons cycles or spin only so this should be checked thirdly is the filter clear and its draining the water correctly?

Also worth noting that the amount of calls we get where the customer insists that “it doesn’t spin like it used to” nearly always increase in the winter months.

I have been to three machines this week with the same complaint and every one of them was working perfectly. The only difference was the fact that in winter the clothes are being rinsed in water that is not much above freezing, the clothes were no wetter, just very, very cold. 😉

Thanks captaincaveman1 I will look into the drain side of things. It is certainly draining to a certain point where water cannot be seen in the drum. I will also get her to try it on different programs.

Iadom, it’s definitely wet clothes that are coming out after the spin cycle.they are dripping wet.

She says it’s almost like the final 1200 RPM spin doesn’t get up to it’s top speed as before.

The difference between 1200rpm and a lot more is, frankly, negligible in technical terms…

Most people wouldn’t notice a whole heap of difference. I suspect it’s largely a placebo type effect going on as the data says over that it’s a very small benefit.

If the machine isn’t spinning at all or the brushes are worn then it’s possible that the spin is not right of course but, you’d have to remove the brushes to see.

If you do need a set they are here: http://shop.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/washing- … on-brushes

If the laundry is dripping wet, chances are that it’s not ramping up to speed and just distributing, not actually completing a full spin cycle.
