Hello! I have a 44AW that stops mid cycle occasionally. I worked out a while back that cleaning the contacts on the door close switch seems to resurrect it, at least temporarily – this fix works for a couple of months, then the problem comes back.

This time the fix worked for about half an hour. Might have been because I was in a hurry – might not have been as thorough. Tried a little copper grease on the contacts too to prevent tarnishing, but realise this may have been ill advised…

Any advice on a permanent fix or a replacement part?

    Cheers!

Do you mean the microswitch at the top of the door?

If so it is this one

That’s the one, yes. I’m not terrible knowledgeable on this sort of thing, so wasn’t sure if they’re the sort of part that fails, especially as cleaning the contacts seemed to work… Swapping the part is recommended, then?

The part holds a micro-switch and they can fail internally with burnt contacts as well as the type of problem you are getting…

If you have started to get problems with it then change it as it can overheat and cause damage to the wiring

Thanks for the advice! I’ll swap the part as you say.
