Hello the switch has gone on this cooker that controls the front right ring on the hob. [I know it is the switch and not the ring/element]
It is the 4th switch/dial from the left.
I have a replacement part ELE4109.
The part is a pattern part. It does not have the same/identical prongs on the reverse of the switch.
I was hoping to just swap the old one out and the new one in but with prongs in different places it needs more insight.
The shop that supplied the part says the system tells them that the part has been UPDATED and requires a different wiring configuration as some of the wiring is now done internally in the new part.
The old part had 4 wires attached to it. [sunvic simmerstat Type tyj 6219]
One red wire went to a prong labelled ‘Line’.
Two wires (one black & one brown) went to a prong labelled ‘Neut’. This was a daisy chain along the regulators.
One blue wire went to a prong whose label I can’t read.
There were no spare prongs.
The new part has prongs labelled:-
‘2’ [single prong]
‘P2’ [double prong]
‘P1’ [double prong]
‘4’ [double prong]
and
‘4A’ which is two seperate single prongs at right angles to each other.
Are you able to help me as to how the new part could be wired and are there now redundant wires?
I’m leaving the cooker apart overnight in the hope that I get a response soonish.
Many thanks.
Barry
