This looks like a Gorenje unless I’m mistaken.

New tenant is complaining of the back the fridge is warm.
Lo and behold, freezer is fine, fridge appears to be cool enough. Air temp test was ok considering I’d opened and closed a few times. Butters and marges all cold and hard enough. Not able to probe any liquids as the tenants was not there. (I usually ask for a container of water to be left in the fridge overnight then test the water)

Normal levels of ice (frozen condensation)at the top of the wet wall at the back. When I turned the stat up to fire the compressor, lo and hold within 5 mins the middle third of the wet wall was warm. Noticeably warm that you can feel it.

The top third iced up condensation as you would expect. Bottom third was starting to cool I think?

The wet wall seems solid and it doesn’t feel like blown or wet insulation. It’s just a bit strange. 😕

A quick search and it’s not unknown with these. post205638.html?hilit=hzdi#p205638

Is this a partial blockage? Surely it can’t be designed like this? I know pipework can be run around door openings to aid in preventing condensation but this is a bit strange. Maybe it’s a defrost system for the wet wall??

Any suggestions? The tenant is doing his nut. He has massive OCD issues, everything laid out meticulously in the fridge. Everything equally spaced across each shelf!! He’s going to go mad when he gets home. I moved his biscuits to the left 🙂

is there a fast cool switch on the stat housing? if so turn it off as it heats the top rear of the fridge and should only be used when filling with a lot of fresh food and then turned off after a while. common Gorenje made Smeg compalaint.

    Thanks eastlmark,

There was a switch on the stat. Firstly I thought it might be for cold ambient temperature (similar to some Bosch). It looks like it’s in the off position. When I switch it exposes a red indicator. Instruction manual no where to be found. I’ll try and find one online.

    I suspect you’re correct. Thanks
