    Hi,

My Samsung RSG5UCRS has started tripping the RCD on the main house fuse box. Sometimes it lasts an hour, sometimes only a few mins. It was left off for 24hrs and then restarted – lasted 5 hours this time and then back to tripping off every few mins.

Having searched the forum it seems the defrost heater is a common fault on other Samsung models but I havn’t seen it mentioned on this specific model number – anyone know if this is a common fault?

Bit disappointing on a three year old model – thank god we’ve kept the old Candy one we bought 15 years ago as a spare – still going strong.

    Cheers,

    Mark

Yes it will be the defrost heater.

    Thanks for the reply Bob.

I ordered a replacement, and the repair was going well until I realised that the replacement part, while having an element which is mechanically identical, has different connectors. The original has two seperate single pin connectors, one which connects to a plug on the left hand side of the fridge, the other plug connecting into the right.

The new replacement however, has a single two pin connector, combining the two wires. One element is labelled as 321K, the other as 321F. Can I reuse the original connectors by fitting them to the new element?

    Cheers,

I’ve got the same problem, what was the answer in the end. I wired mine up as before but I have now to go back as the fridge is not cold so I’m guessing it’s iced up. Will see this pm!
