Hi – I have an integrated White Knight vented sensor dryer that’s just over a year old and has stopped heating up properly. The back of the drum gets warm and the door gets warm eventually. I’ve checked and cleaned out the vent house front grille and filters. The dryer warms up after a few mins but doesn’t get as hot as it used to and takes forever to dry. There is good airflow out and in and no sign of any obstructions. No click when red reset button pressed either.
Am wondering if I have a faulty heating element as on 1/2 heat the dryer is cold, on full heat it just gets warm. Am also wondering if its to do with the sensor dry facility which I have read can be a problem. Also have noticed it works best on a timed dry for 30 mins than on the auto dry programmes. I can strip down and replace parts but have no experience of using a multi-meter. 😳 Any advice appreciated – thanks

    sounds like element failure

half heat 1 element full heat 2 elements

so it sounds like element 1 has failed. they come as a pair not an uncommon fault

    Thanks so much Dave (electrofix)
replaced the element which was a bit of a fiddle and at the same time replaced the reset and inlet thermostats as thought might as well as had it in bits.
    Working like a dream now
Thanks so much you’ve saved me at least £100 in callout charges (without the parts which Crosslee provided for free as the machine is only just out of warranty) and as much as £225 as was thinking of just buying a new machine.
