    Hi

My dishwasher was on permanent drain – through these forums I established that the base was flooded, triggering a safety float, causing the ongoing drain-out. (Thanks UK-Whitegoods team!)

Tilting the machine emptied the flood water and allowed the machine to start/stop, re-set as normal. I’ve opened up to trace the leak, but wonder if perhaps my float is blocked.

Here’s a photo inside the left side of machine. Is that the float I’m looking at? Seems very calcified (though the material is loose, flakey, like it’s fallen there rather than grown there).

Any advice at this stage appreciated as, too often before, I’ve dismantled entirely to find the solution was relatively local.

    Thanks

Remove and clean that ‘pressure chamber unit’ as well as the grey corrugated transfer pipe and all will be well again.

    Thanks Martin.

I had done so, based on the related threads. See updated clean picture!

But no joy. At least, a different problem apparently.

Permanent draining not now a problem, but in cycle it won’t drain. Sounds like there’s a blockage in the outflow, as I can hear the impeller working away. It sounds a lot more noisy than normal, but I think that’s just because its internal cowl is removed and the whole machine is pulled out, so not sound-insulated by the counter etc.

Is it normal for the programme lights to go out once programme begins? Mine hidden by counter top when it’s in place, so I don’t normally see them.

I’m about to empty it out and see what I can find. I did clean out the pump and all those chambers very thoroughly not so long ago.

    Wish me luck …

drain pipe from sump all clear and clean, right through to kitchen pipes. Either side of impeller also clear.

I can feel a little hard disk if I poke from the hose end of the impeller drain spout. I presume that’s an inline filter.

I wonder is it anything to do with the build-up of sludge in the top corner of this plastic water channel unit?
