I have owned this cooker from new (at least 14 years old now).
Although I have read bad comments about SMEG, it has been a good cooker with little need to replace parts over the years.

However, the cooling fan is starting to make a noise (bearing whine?) and I think a replacement part is needed. This is apparently no longer provided by Smeg and I am struggling to find anywhere that can offer something.

This is not the fan on the back of the oven that has a heating element around it but another fan that starts up when the oven gets warm and blows air across the top of the outside of the oven – venting it through holes that are visible at the top when the oven door is open.

It is quite likely that a suitable cooling fan is still made but they don’t list this old cooker because of its age. I need advice on what may be available and where to buy it from. I would be OK fitting it myself, I think.

Please help – any advice welcome.

If I run the oven without the cooling fan – what would happen???
