We bought one of these a few months ago, particularly because the spec. said it was good for pet hairs. I must say it has been absolutely brilliant at doing that and its primary purpose of picking up dust and fluff. Its nice and light, but it fills up quite rapidly.
There has though been one issue since new and it might be worth mentioning the fix, which I have just got around to investigating. The tool hose is part telescopic, part expandable flexible hose, which clips vertically at the back, into a plastic C clip to retain it when not in use – or at least that is what is supposed to happen.
In our case, every time it was used as floor cleaner, the hose would unclip itself and drop down on your feet. It just didn’t seem to seat itself fully into the clip properly.
What I found was that the flexible expandable hose had been manufactured just a fraction too long. The ‘nose’ of the hose, where the tool was supposed to fit, was just a bit to high to fit the height of the cavity in the main body of the vac.
The simple fix is to cut a few turns off the flexible hose at the top end/ the tool end. The top of the hose screws into a boss, then that boss clips into a second boss with a handle to allow the tool to swivel. The second boss holds the first one in place via two lugs. The two lugs have to be simultaneously eased out, to release the first boss complete with hose. The hose then unscrews from that boss. I cut four complete turns from the end of the hose, two then a further two when I found it needed more clearance.
It now clips fully into the plastic C clip and doesn’t keep falling out. A simple fix for a very annoying problem.
