I have a two-year-old AEG Santo 3274-7KG fridge/freezer. The freezer part is working fine but the fridge part is not functioning right:

It has a temperature display just above the door which is displaying a square in the top half of the display.

According to the user guide this indicates a “function fault”. Any suggestions what this means and what I need to do to fix it?

    Many thanks.

It means the fridge temperature sensor is faulty.

Not a DIY job really to be honest, take a look in the directories and repairs@ for an engineer local to you.

    Many thanks Dave

I’ll ring for an AEG engineer to fix it.

I have a similar problem. I changed the air temp sensor with no result. The black sheathed lead going to what I think is the evaporator sensor appears to be where the fault is as when I replace this with a 2.2k resistor it works or at least the square goes away and it starts reading a temp again and the motor kicks in. The fridge was overcooling for a while with the square but is no undercooling The ‘faulty’ sensor reads 680ohms. Not quite sure exactly where the evaporator sensor goes however. Does anybody have a diagram?

    Best Wishes
